I thought Final would be right up my alley, but got only the Hoosiers half. Kate’s response of two pro teams was lame. I got the first and last DDs, and really thought she’d know that last one. Chicago also uses that term for its political districts. But Kate played well and deserved to win.
As I predicted, Greg got himself into deep trouble with his silly guesses on clues he didn’t know. And indirectly to that, was unable to find a DD. I didn’t get any of the stumpers, and palindromes were tricky.
This kind of reminds me of the 2022 ToC Exhibition Match when Matt Amodio and Amy Schneider both gave halves of the correct response, but they couldn’t combine them together. Mattea Roach was able to do that, and won the game, in a runaway.
Spell correctly “St Petersburg”. And who is the alleged Pushkin’s “brother-in law”? He had none.
The spelling is fixed.
The brother-in-law was Georges d’Anthès.
Hoosiers jumped out at me right away and then with Crimson Tide on my shelf this marks one of the few times I came up with the triple stumper. Tho id be at negative 12000 before that happened
Lol, Steve, negative 12,000! That’s funny!
Both Derek and Greg were half right with their responses, but you needed both halves to be correct and this Final is a triple stumper. Greg has a good chance of making it to the 2027 TOC where he can possibly have a rematch with Jamie Ding.
