Dhruv found the Jeopardy! round Daily Double in “U.S. Forests” under the $1,000 clue on the 6th pick of the round. He was in the lead with $2,400, the only one with any money. He made it a true Daily Double and he was RIGHT.

Dhruv finished in the lead with $10,400. William was second with $5,200 and Hannah was last with $1,000.

William found the first Daily Double in “World Geography” under the $2,000 clue on the 12th pick. He was in second place with $6,400 at this point, $8,800 less than Dhruv’s lead. He bet it all and thought it was Switzerland. That was WRONG.

Dhruv found the last Daily Double in “Explorers” under the $800 clue, with 10 clues left after it. In the lead with $18,400, he had $12,400 more than William in second place. He bet $600 and took a guess with orangutan. That was WRONG.

Dhruv finished in the lead with a runaway $18,200. William was next with $8,800 and Hannah was in third place with $4,600.

“Amadis of Gaul” was a popular 16th century chivalric romance. The title character makes several appearances in Miguel de Cervantes’ 17th century classic, “Don Quixote,” along with a lot of other knights that Don Quixote learned about from “reading books of chivalry with such ardour and avidity” that “he lost his wits.” Other great knights that Don Quixote admired were Palmerin of England, Roland and El Cid. They are all mentioned in the first chapter, but Don Quixote models himself after Amadis and tells Sancho in Chapter 25: “Amadis was the polestar, day-star, sun of valiant and devoted knights, whom all we who fight under the banner of love and chivalry are bound to imitate.” In Chapter 26, he declares: “Long live the memory of Amadis and let him be imitated so far as is possible by Don Quixote of La Mancha.”
Hannah got it right. She doubled today’s score to $9,200. Her $7,600 from yesterday brought her final score to $16,800.
William got it, too. He bet $8,001, finishing with $16,801 today. With nothing to bring forward, that was his final score.
Dhruv, with his runaway, didn’t feel the need to respond to the clue. He wrote down “That’s all, folks.” He lost his $19.00 bet (his age, Alex correctly guessed). His $9,000 from yesterday was added to today’s $18,181 for a $27,181 finish. Dhruv Gaur is the 2018 College Championship champ.
Dhruv won $100,000, a guaranteed spot in the next ToC and a trophy; William won $50,000; and Hannah won $25,000. Congratulations to all three!

Terry O’Shea and Dhruv Gaur Ivy League champions! Dhruv wrote “That’s all Folks!” making a reference to every single ending of a Looney Tunes cartoon. He, Hannah, and Scott did the Village People’s YMCA after Alex did the A, which was the same thing Michael and Chris McKenna did in the Bonus Round on Wheel of Fortune.
Not only is Dhruv Gaur the 2nd College Champion from an Ivy League school, with Terry O’Shea of Princeton University being the 1st, but Dhruv is the 1st freshman to win the College Championship in almost 14 1/2 years, and yes, I enjoyed the YMCA that Dhruv, Hannah, William & Alex did.
The guy who won tonight has an excellent chance of making it to the Finals in the TOC against real adults, IMO. He is extremely good.

Yes. Rachel. I could have beaten Rachel and her opponents 2 of the 5 nights she was on the show. I really wasn’t that impressed with Rachel, but I am extremely impressed with the guy who won tonight.
The real adults in the TOC will have a tough time with this 19 year old college kid, IMO.

Congrats to Dhruv Gaur! This was an awesome match between the college champion finalists. We will see you in the next toc Dhruv. By the way, VJ the funny scene in don quixote was when he thought those windmills were giants. Does that show he had some sort of disorder or some mental problems while making that mistake?
@Lou, it tells you in the beginning of the book that he lost his marbles from staying up all day and night reading about the adventures of knights-errant.
