Only ONE of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.

WHAT IS RUBIK’S CUBE?

This is the 4th Final Jeopardy! clue on the gadget invented by Hungarian professor Erno Rubik in 1974. Rubik didn’t set out intentionally to invent a toy that would become a worldwide sensation. He was mainly trying to come up with something that would be helpful in the descriptive geometry course he was teaching.

Here’s a link to a YouTube video that, hopefully, will explain what the Rubik’s Cube has to do with the five Platonic solids, because I sure can’t.

Clare thought it was Quirkle. She bet and lost her whole $2,800.

Alex got it right. He bet $5,200 and finished with $14,000.

Brett went with Tetris. That cost him $8,000 and left him with $1,800. It also made Alex a 2-day champ and brought his winnings up to $56,401.
