What a game! Well, I never heard of the ‘Tierra Del Fuego” until now. Anyways, I will certainly keep that archipelago in mind.

  2. VJ says:

    Semifinal Lineups:
Fri 2/13 Roger Craig, Jen Giles, Drew Basile
Mon 2/16 Matt Amodio, Andrew He, Alison Betts
Tue 2/17 Long Nguyen, Karen Farrell, Drew Goins

It occurs to me that doubling up and succeeding on a DD could knock the top players out of the running. Also, it sure would be funny if Matt Amodio and Andrew He cancelled each other out in Alison’s game.

  3. Jason says:

I was 3/3 on DD but missed FJ. At the very moment I came to this page, I realized my bonehead error. I said the Leeward Islands, in the Caribbean. Then, just now, I actually register “The SOUTHERN Hemisphere”. But, Will thought the same thing (more or less).

Good on Long for his win. However, as stated, I think his chances of winning it all are in the minority.

  4. Howard says:

All performed decently, although Adriana wasn’t heard from that much. I don’t believe she’s ever said where she works but it has to be Purdue U. Long was the best player even though he didn’t go large on the DDs. (The last one he bet $1600 not $1700) I surprised myself getting the last 2 DDs. Adriana answered the first before I could think of it. Final makes sense once you think of the smoke reference.
    I didn’t get it.

When they intro’d the finalists, Roger said he’s from Pennsylvania. Can’t recall where he was from during his earlier shows (California?) thinking it wasn’t PA. Maybe he moved after marrying Julia Collins. And Alison said San Jose, which tells me maybe she relocated? She worked in the film biz and I thought she lived in the LA area. She did post on FB right after her first run that she’d just been laid off from her job as a script editor and was seeking new employment.

The military rank/tennis tournament was remarkably easy. Knew the Duchenne disorder from an annual event that aired nationwide each summer.

I remember now how no one got that FJ from 2 years ago. I knew its height, and the “legs” part of the clue confirmed it at the time.

  5. VJ says:

So I was wrong about Adriana. She got trounced. 🤣 but I was right that this game would be a runaway.

I still want Roger to win but I suppose Matt Amodio will mop the floor with everyone.

  6. Steve Bearss says:

    Wild that drew advanced

  7. Richard Walls Corliss says:

    Semifinalists:
    Long Nguyen: $21,600
    Matt Amodio: $18,800
    Roger Craig: $15,000
    Andrew He: $10,801
    Alison Betts: $2,786
    Drew Goins: $1,600

    Wild Cards:
    Karen Farrell: $16,400
    Jennifer Giles: $8,400
    Drew Basile: $7,200
    ============================
    Adriana Harmeyer: $6,800
    Mehal Shah: $6,001
    Liz Feltner: $1,599
    Tom Cubbage: $1
    Josh Hill: $0 ($7,600 $3,400)
    Isaac Hirsch: $0 ($7,600 $3,200)
    Will Yancey: $0 ($7,400)
    Veronica Vichit-Vadakan: $0 ($7,200)
    Eric Ahasic: $0 ($5,600)

  8. Kevin Cheng says:

Will would have advanced to the semifinals as a wild card with his pre-Final score, but he went all in and was eliminated. Had he stood pat, he would have made it to the semifinals as a wild card. Adriana was correct but didn’t have enough higher score to advance. Instead it’s Jen and Basile who earned the last two wild card spots.

    • William Weyser says:

Will didn’t know that, because he was in the Green Room all day. It wasn’t Adriana’s day on the buzzer, but she did give more than 500 correct responses, and she has an overall total winnings of $446,600. Not enough to beat Paolo Pasco’s $448,717, but it is enough to beat Buzzy Cohen by less than $5,000.
