Reem found the last Daily Double in “Periodic Table for 5.” She was in second place with $13,400, $13,000 less than Craig in the lead. She bet $2,000 and guessed “tungsten.” That was WRONG.

Craig finished in the lead and he now had a runaway with $26,400. Reem was in second place with $11,400. Murray was out at this point with a negative $1,800.
Only ONE of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.
Martin Van Buren, the 8th President of the USA, was born in Kinderhook, NY, in a Dutch community so Dutch was his first language. Besides being the only president whose first language was not English, he was also the first president born a U.S. citizen. During his presidency, Van Buren bought Lindenwald, a 36-room mansion and about 125 acres of land in Kinderhook for about $14,000 (over $300K in today’s money). OK, so this Reem woman missed “What is nickel”? What are the odds that she’d be from Sudbury, known as The Nickel City or The Nickel Capital of the World.
The whole world, mind you.
And she missed it? You’d think she’d have been curious about nickel at some point. And devil has many synonyms, such as Satan, but one of them is Old Nick, which could ring a bell for someone from Sudbury.
The word “nickel” comes from the Swedish. Oddly enough, so does the word “tungsten,” which she gave as her answer.
