The Final Jeopardy question (12/4/2014), in the category “Toy Brands” was:

TWO of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.
The actual line that sometimes pops up at the end of Play-Doh commercials is “Fun to play with, not to eat”, especially on one of those food-making kits that encourage children to make burgers, shakes, waffles, popcorn, ice cream, shakes, pizza and spaghetti with the help of equipment provided.
Hasbro’s Play-Doh website says Play-Doh “is primarily a mixture of water, salt and flour. It does NOT contain peanuts, peanut oil, or any milk byproducts. It DOES contain wheat. Play-Doh compound is not a food item and is not intended to be eaten….”
They also have helpful cleaning tips, so you can get it out of your carpets, and some Fun Facts: Over 950 million pounds, or more than 2 billion cans, of Play-Doh Compound have been squished and squashed since 1956. (Play-Doh FAQ & Tips)
Olivia got it right and doubled her score to $2,000.
Courtney wrote down “Mattel”. That cost her $5,399 and she finished with $9,202.
Zane also got it right and he bet $12,803. That brought him up to $29,203, well in excess of the $15K guarantee and the highest win so far this week!

Didn’t one write PlayDoh? Sometimes Jeopardy disqualifies a misspelled answer. Let’s have some consistency.
I enjoyed this game and really like Zane. He came prepared. Not only did he win the highest amount so far this week, he was dressed to impress. My type of guy.
It was nice to see behind the podium and how the contestants appear about the same height from the front on tv. I truly enjoyed all 3 of the contestants. Each one had a passion for career goals that better society. I especially liked Courtney’s day set aside to recognize the plight of cancer survivors, Olivia liking to help “little kids” as an educator, and Zane the scientist.
I’m not easily impressed but these 3 took me outside the game of Jeopardy to a level of what lies ahead in our society from their age group.
Yup, Zane was all business. I liked his big tie. 🙂
“Business” at the end of the category turned out to be just another mistake on the Clue of the Day page
I noticed that. I’ve lost all hope for NYT online CotD. The NYT print edition I picked up today has it correctly as it appeared on fj.
Zane – the future Steve Hawking. I’ve never seen such a neat hairdo on a 11 year old. BTW, how old is Olivia? she looked about 6.
Olivia is 12. There’s a link to an article about Olivia in the Kids Week Coming Soon post (look under FYI in the last column). That’s where I saw that info.
Thanks. I’ll check it out.
sigh….again no triple solve. but at least zane can do his math and i am glad he cleaned them out (almost twice the guarantee)!! strange bet by courtney but it did not matter anyway. i wonder if we will get a “triplet” tomorrow to close the week out?
