WHAT IS RICO?
According to Snopes, the “Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations” (RICO) laws were drafted by G. Robert Blakey in the 1960s and enacted in 1970 to combat organized crime. Snopes investigated the rumor that Blakey chose the RICO name as a nod to Caesar Enrico “Rico” Bandello, the notorious gangster portrayed by Edward G. Robinson in “Little Caesar” (1931). So far, Blakey will neither confirm or deny the rumor so Snopes’ verdict is “undetermined”.
And, n’yeah, you can watch the 4-minute ending of “Little Caesar” on YouTube. It starts out with Rico referring to himself as “Little Caesar” during a phone call and finishes with the famous line “Mother of mercy, is this the end of Rico?”
An old clue: There have been many clues about that last line, but here’s one that combines it with RICO: THERE OUGHTA BE A LAW: Mother of mercy! Is this 1970 Federal law the end of us wiseguys?
Joe came up with the Taft-Hartley Act. He lost $4,000 and finished with $5,000.
Laura had no response. She lost her $4,600 and finished with $5,800.
Maria crossed out “Jackie” and was unable to complete her “child” something. Her “go bigor go home” $10,001 loss left her with $799. And that’s how Laura survived to play another day. Her 2-day total is $17,000.

Yikes. 1/3 on DD, and missed FJ. I was thinking Cagney, so I missed the idea all over. If I have seen Little Caesar, I certainly don’t recall.
Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good!
The Taft-Hartley Act? No!!!!!! Well, I went with the National Firearms Act of 1934, and I thought that I stood a reasonably good chance of scoring in FJ. Anyways, it was a good competitive game in spite of the missed DDs.
I never understand the half wager in final jeopardy from 3rd place. Either wager 0 or just enough to cover first or all of it
But what do I know. They’re on the show and I am not
That’s the third week in a row this month where we have a losing week for FJ as we got another triple stumper.
That’s the third consecutive week in a row this month to have 3 triple stumpers. December has been a really tough month for FJ!
