WHAT IS THE DUST BOWL?

In April 1935, the term “dust bowl” was coined by Associated Press staff writer Robert Geiger, after traveling through areas hit by dust storms. Geiger spoke with many afflicted residents and wrote a series of articles about it. As the Oklahoma Historical Society explains, the panhandle city of Guymon, Oklahoma was the dateline of Geiger’s first article. As a result, “dust bowl” came to be synonymous with the Sooner State, although dust storms in Texas were just as bad, if not worse.

This is the first sentence of Geiger’s first article: “Three little words–achingly familiar on a western farmer’s tongue–rule life today in the dust bowl of the continent– If it rains…”

Priscilla bet $2,000 and finished with $8,000.

Chuck bet $2,600 and finished with $10,000.

Greg bet $5,200 and won the game with $35,400. Greg’s 4-day total is $110,402.

Greg is currently the biggest winner this season and has won over 110,000 so far. There are a lot of preemptions due to the Election night coverage.
