WHAT IS CAMELOT?

Historic-UK.com places Caerleon in South Wales as the No. 1 contender out of four for Camelot’s most likely location: “Arthur is considered by many to have been a Romano-British leader fighting the Anglo-Saxon invaders. So the placing of Camelot in Wales at Caerleon could be quite plausible.”

Cadbury Castle, Somerset is No. 2: “Local names and traditions seem to reinforce the links between Arthur’s Camelot and Cadbury Castle.”

Tintagel Castle in Cornwall is No. 3. It was King Arthur’s birthplace according to Geoffrey of Monmouth, leading to speculation that it could also be Camelot. (Geoffrey of Monmouth also indicated that “Old King Cole”, that merry old soul, was real and one of Arthur’s ancestors.)

No. 4: Winchester in Hampshire is a candidate for Camelot courtesy of Le Morte d’Arthur by Thomas Malory’s. Scholars are not even sure who Thomas Malory was, let alone where Camelot was. 🤣🤣🤣

Jeff bet $2,001 and finished with $15,201.

Molly bet it all and doubled her score to $30,400.

Andrew bet one dollar and won the game with $30,401. His 4-day total is $137,502. Ken Jennings hopes to see more games like this soon. Can we stand the suspense?

I laughed out loud, though, when Ken said, “As Dean Martin would have said, that’s a moray”!

The Final wasn’t too tough; I figured they’d all know it.

I’ve discovered Ken’s weak spot: MATH! Andrew had 101K and change over 3 days, and Ken walked on and said he’d averaged over $35K per day.

    • dollarbill says:

CORRECTION: $107,101 (see above) divided by 3 days is over $35K per day, indeed. I’m good at math and knew Ken was right, when he first said that.
With this narrow win, he (that’s Mr. He) is averaging over $34K. Ken averaged a similar amount, just over $34K over 74 wins.
