Really thought all 3 would nail FJ. Shoot, those two unheard of guys’ names and “1975” made it obvious it was Maggie Thatcher. Other than the T-T metal stand, the stumpers clobbered me. Did get 2/3 of the DDs; figured out the translation of Galia Nova but didn’t put it together properly.

Mark may have validated my “brain mush” theory of losing on a Friday, usually the fifth taping of the day.

I thought Dot should wager at least $1801, but I see what she did. $599 totally locked out Mark in case he doubled and she missed. But Eamonn crossed her up by not wagering the expected $8601.

Re FJ from two years ago: “Amiens” (France) and “1864 adventure novel” led me right to the author, yet no one got it.

I thought the same of Mark – Friday is tiring. He had a lot of unforced errors.

I was 3/3 on DD and got FJ! Also, about 80% on TS!

Nice! Take the online test! I’ve taken it 2-3X for fun in recent years. Probably got at least 40/50 each time, but they don’t give you a score or the answers. Last time in 2023 I got invited to audition, which I ignored because I’m ineligible, at least until Mr. DeMille calls me for my close-up.

        • Jason says:

I don’t know why I haven’t. I’ve never gotten past the first test in the prior times.

And major props for Norma Desmond!!

Oh, and, I thought, because dear departed Alex is, well, departed, that you could be on again!

  2. Rick says:

Mark wasn’t as sharp tonight, but he sure played some great games. In fact, I was sorry to see Mark go. As for me, I did exceptionally well tonight, and the FJ was rather obvious.

  3. Kevin Cheng says:

Tough day for Mark as it was an up and down game for him. Darn those daily doubles to him. But I’m glad that we have our first 5 day champion of Season 41. Thacher was accepted so that should be a thumbs up on the spelling list decisions.
