Final Jeopardy: Words From World War II (10-1-25)
Here are some more clues from the 10/1/2025 Jeopardy! game. Please don’t put the answers to these clues in the comments so people who missed the game can have a chance to answer them. It is okay to refer to them by category and clue value or by part of the clue.
There was one other triple stumper in 2010 in POP CULTURE:
($1600) This rap single by Far East Movement, the first No. 1 hit by an Asian-American group, has a title that refers to a private jet
The players got all the clues in I NEED SOME “AIR”:
($400) Drive carefully–Norway’s Trollstigen Mountain Pass, seen here, features 11 of these harrowing turns
($800) For skiers, it’s a fast way up the mountain; for nervous skiers, it’s also an appealing way down
($1200) In Glasgow, your obstetrician might congratulate you on delivering a “wee” one of these
($1600) You don’t need ESP to know there’s no “E”, “S” or “P” in this French-derived word for someone with ESP
($2000) English surgeon Edward Jenner had a keen interest–udderly professional of course–in women with this pre-industrial job

I got a big kick out of that paint brand clue and the Irish-American kid on the logo. I won a prize for Cutest Costume when I was 8 dressed as that kid. I had a bob haircut and same color hair and am part Irish descent. They thought I was a boy.
That World Heritage clue was reminiscent of an FJ from, if I recall, 2 seasons ago, about a hill in Italy that was 30 miles or somewhat from some other place. It was arcane enough that I couldn’t find the correct response looking on Wikipedia. And Buzzy Cohen is no longer a credited writer, so I don’t know who wrote that over-clever, over-cute clue.
TL;DR The phrase “Galapagos of the Indian Ocean” is novel to me, this day.
Nice comeback from the depths of despair for the guys, but this was Lisa’s game to lose
I did well in round one, including that cinch DD, and crashed and burned all the way through the second. Final was also a stumper; I thought it might be moles or gophers.
Surprised no one knew the power charger clue, and especially the area above the hips/garbage collector’s milieu. One would think that someone would have known what a Big Mac is. Maybe they’re all vegetarians. (Which leads me to ask, if vegetarians eat only vegetables, what do humanitarians eat?)
Curtis did reply on the Big Mac clue with hamburger. Then he looked genuinely perplexed as to why that was wrong. Then James buzzed in . It looked like he was also going to say hamburger, but he hesitantly got out sandwich instead.
Congratulations to Lisa in becoming our new Jeopardy champion! Well, it was another exciting game, but that FJ was a real bummer.
Wow that final was super hard, and I still don’t understand the World Heritage daily… Galapagos is in the Pacific. Maybe I’m not reading it right.
Sorry, I understand it now, I read it wrong lol.
