Edmonton Beats Sliding San Jose, Takes Over 2nd Place in NHL Pacific

The San Jose Sharks picked a bad time to go into a slump. With a week and a half to go in the NHL regular season, the Sharks lost to the Pacific Division rival Edmonton Oilers 3-2 in Edmonton on March 30th. It was the Sharks’ seventh loss in their last 10 games, and while San Jose has already clinched a playoff berth, the loss dropped the Sharks into third place in the Pacific Division with 93 points. Edmonton took over second with 95, and is just one point behind front runner Anaheim.

Patrick Maroon had two goals for the Oilers, and Connor McDavid added a goal and an assist. McDavid leads the league in scoring with 91 points. He has 28 goals and a league leading 63 assists. Edmonton hosts Anaheim on April 1st, and can take over the division lead with a victory over the Ducks.

After there were no Canadian teams in the playoffs last year, it looks likely that all but 2 (maybe 3) teams will make the playoffs this year!
Good luck to them! (At least some of the way lol)
