Dinner with Gyp Rosetti

Here’s a clip from Boardwalk Empire’s episode “Sunday Best.” Gyp Rosetti is having Easter dinner at home. Gyp has mentioned before that he is married and we meet his wife, Gianconda, played by Ashlie Atkinson. She is a pretty bossy lady who doesn’t take any guff from Gyp. Gianconda is obviously wearing the pants (if not the business suit) in this household.

Ashlie Atkinson was also in the Law & Order: CI episode “Icarus” that Billy Magnussen (Roger McAllister) and Christopher McDonald (Harry Daugherty) were in.

Gyp’s mother-in-law, Mafalda, is played by Judy Del Giudice.  Interesting fact: Al Capone had a sister named Mafalda who owned a delicatessen and restaurant at 10232 S. Western Ave. in Chicago.

The two girls are Gyp’s daughters. In the episode The Pony, Gillian Darmody asks Gyp if he has any children. He replies that he has 2 girls and calls them his little princesses. Gyp’s henchman, Tonino,, says the girls re beauties, just like their mother.  Tonino is played by Chris Caldovino. Interesting fact: Chris also played Billy Leotardo in the Sopranos. Billy Leotardo was killed by Steve Buscemi’s character, Tony Blundetto.
