Celtics Take a 2-0 Lead Over Mavericks in NBA Finals
Game 2 of the 2024 NBA Finals was a much closer affair than the 107-89 Boston victory in Game 1, but the Celtics still came away with a 105-98 victory over the Dallas Mavericks in Boston on June 9th. The Celtics’ depth was also on display as Jrue Holiday led the team with 26 points and 11 rebounds. Jayson Tatum scored 18 and had 12 assists and Jaylen Brown scored 21.
Luka Doncic led the way for Dallas with a triple double—32 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists. While all of Dallas’ starters scored in double figures, the Mavericks’ bench only scored nine points between five players. Boston used only three off the bench for 17 points, although starter Al Horford and sixth man Kristaps Porzingis essentially split time at center.
The series resumes in Dallas on June 12th.
