Cavaliers Demolish Raptors, Take 2-0 Lead in NBA East Finals
The Toronto Raptors had the second best record in the NBA Eastern Conference during the regular season, just one game behind the Cleveland Cavaliers. These two teams are playing each other in the conference finals, but Cleveland is showing everyone that when it counts the most, there’s a huge gap between the Cavaliers and everyone else.
Cleveland beat Toronto 108-89 on May 19th behind a triple double by LeBron James to take a 2-0 lead in the series. James was one of five Cavaliers in double figures in scoring. In Game 1 on May 17th, Cleveland destroyed the Raptors 115-84. The Cavaliers are undefeated in the post season, sweeping both the Detroit Pistons and Atlanta Hawks in four games earlier. Toronto on the other hand, went the full seven games against both the Indiana Pacers and Miami Heat to reach the Eastern Conference Finals. After a loss at Chicago just before the playoffs started, James predicted to a reporter that the Cavaliers would win the NBA title in sixteen games (four, four game sweeps). While he was probably at least half kidding, it looks increasingly possible that Cleveland will advance to the NBA Finals with a 12-0 record.
