Braves Beat Dodgers to Win National League Pennant Behind Huge Series From Eddie Rosario

Outfielder Eddie Rosario spent the first four months of the 2022 baseball season mired in mediocrity and injuries with the Cleveland Indians. At the end of July, Rosario was traded to the Atlanta Braves, who were working on fixing their outfield, with slugger Ronald Acuna, Jr. out for the season with an injury. He hit .271 with seven homers and 16 RBIs in 33 games with the Braves in the regular season. In the Braves’ first post season series against Milwaukee, Rosario was 4 for 13 (.308) with a pair of RBIs in four games, a sign that he was getting hot at the plate just in time for the National League Championship Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Yeah, Rosario was hot at the plate in the NLCS. In Game 6, he was two for four with a three home run to lead the Braves to a 4-2 victory over the Dodgers to win the best of seven series four games to two and giving the Braves their first National League championship since 1999. In the series as a whole, Rosario was 14 for 25 at the plate, a blisteringly hot .560 batting average. He hit three home runs and had nine RBIs, scored six runs, had a slugging percentage of 1.040 and an OPS of 1.647. Needless to say, Rosario was named the NLCS Most Valuable Player.

The Braves will play the Astros in Houston in Game 1 of the World Series on October 26th.
