Beyonce is Having Twins, IVF Rumors, Due Date Speculation and More

Beyonce announced on Instagram on Wednesday, Feb. 1st, that the Carter family will soon be welcoming 2 new additions at one time. She is having twins. “We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes. – The Carters” The power couple have one daughter, Blue Ivy, who is now 5 years old.

The post has garnered 9.5 million likes and almost half a million comments so far. The symbolism involved in the announcement photo was explained on The View. “Why is she wearing a veil,” Joy Behar cracked, “Is it a virgin birth?”

Beyonce did not reveal how far along she is leading to articles speculating on her due date. Ace Showbiz ran an article entitled “Beyonce’s Due Date Revealed,” that is based on a prediction made by “an expert” in a Hollywood Life article.

Even as congratulations poured in on Twitter, the rumor mill began grinding that the 35-year-old superstar’s double blessing was brought about through in-vitro fertilization.

Elite Daily published an article the same day highlighting tweets that attributed the pregnancy to IVF and bringing up other celebrities that have twins, like Mariah and J-Lo. Singer Ciara announced last month that she is expecting 2 bundles of joy.

Talk show host, Wendy Williams talked about Beyonce’s pregnancy in her Hot Topics segment on Thursday Feb. 2nd. First, Wendy expressed great admiration for Beyonce’s instagram pictures, as well as not having to pay for them. Then she said that “twins are a very rare thing by natural bio so I’d be mad like if I was a mom who actually naturally gave birth to twins because now, you know, anybody can do it. And I’m not suggesting that, you know, Beyonce had help or anything like that, I’m just pointing out that… Pharrell had triplets the other day. For moms who naturally have triplets… and I don’t know how his wife had triplets either. I’m just saying that Vanessa Williams has natural blue eyes and Tiny bought hers in Africa.” She went on to say that it’s “kind of upsetting these days that all the things that used to be so unique are not unique because all you have to do is swipe a credit card and make it happen.” Then Wendy went back to wishing Beyonce well.
