Bucks Beat Heat on Last Second Shot in Overtime

The play in tournament is over, and the NBA Playoffs went into high gear with the first games of the opening round on May 22nd. And if Game 1 of the Milwaukee Bucks—Miami Heat matchup is any indication, we should be in for an exciting playoff season.

After being the top seed in the Eastern Conference the last two years, the Bucks had to settle for #3 this time around. Of course, they didn’t even reach the Finals in either year, so maybe that isn’t that big a deal. The Bucks hosted the Miami Heat, the #6 seed, in their opening round matchup. The Heat ended the Bucks run last year, beating Milwaukee in five games in the Eastern Conference semifinals, so there’s a little more incentive for the Bucks to win.

Milwaukee’s Khris Middleton scored a game high 27 points, with the final two points coming on a 19 foot jump shot with 0.5 seconds left in overtime that won the game for the Bucks 109-107. The game was close all the way through regulation and overtime with basically the Bucks scoring last to pull out the victory. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 26 with 18 rebounds, and Jrue Holiday scored 20 with 10 rebounds. Duncan Robinson led Miami with 24 points, and Jimmy Butler scored 17 with 10 rebounds for Miami.
