Florida State Beats Boston College to Win 1st Ever ACC Men’s Regular Season Title
Florida State beat Boston College 80-62 March 7th to win the ACC regular season basketball title and the top seed in the ACC Tournament. It‘s the first such regular season championship for the Seminoles since joining the ACC in 1991. Florida State won the ACC Tournament in 2012.
Florida State operated a little under the radar in a conference where North Carolina, Duke, Virginia, and Louisville tend to be at the top of the standings. Duke, Virginia, and Louisville, all finished 15-5 in conference play, while North Carolina was tied for last at 6-14. Florida State was 16-4 in the ACC, and 26-5 overall. The Seminoles moved up to #4 in the AP Poll, the highest they have been ranked since being #2 in December 1972.
