Flames’ Johnny Gaudreau Ends His Scoring Drought With Hat Trick in Calgary’s 9-4 Win Over New Jersey

Calgary Flames left wing Johnny Gaudreau scored a total of just one goal in February and none in March until the Flames hosted the New Jersey Devils on March 12th. Gaudreau scored three goals and added three assists for a six point night as Calgary beat New Jersey 9-4. It was a career high scoring night for Gaudreau, and despite the slump, he now has a season career high of 33 goals, and with his 57 assists, he’s up to a career high 90 points on the season.

He’s coming out of his slump at a good time as the Flames and San Jose Sharks are running neck and neck for the lead in both the Pacific Division and the NHL Western Conference. While Calgary was beating New Jersey, the Sharks beat the Winnipeg Jets 5-4. San Jose leads in the standings with 94 points while Calgary is keeping pace with 93.
