One of 3 Maryland delegates to sign the Constitution on 9/17/1787, James McHenry was chosen by George Washington as his Secretary of War in 1796, a post he continued to hold during John Adams’ presidency until 1800. The construction of Fort McHenry began in 1798, but was not completed until 1803. James McHenry was still alive during the War of 1812, when his own son participated in the defense of Fort McHenry and Francis Scott Key composed the poem that later became our national anthem. Fort McHenry was designated a national monument and shrine in 1939.
Crista thought it was Thomas Jefferson. She lost her $1,000 bet, retaining $8,000.
Rob wrote down “Baltimore.” Despite his runaway, he bet $700 on this one so he won the match with $18,600. His 3-day total is $58,601.

46/56. 2003 was the last time three games in a row had someone not make it to FJ!
Actually you are wrong, 2004 was during Ken Jennings runs.
He said 2003 though
Okay, 2003 was the last time we had a two player FJ! except for the Ken Jennings regular games.
What is going on this week? Are all these newcomers for jeopardy really have a lack of knowledge to the clues in each of the Categories? And why did nil said Keats twice in a row, VJ? I wonder how those guys were selected when they were not prepared
Seems like a combination of things to me, Lou. Too many guesses, for sure, something they should avoid in the last row, But also not being able to get back on track because they’re being out-buzzed on the easier clues and also because the boards aren’t getting finished. I’m sure that’s because of those long video clues and/or categories! Gosh! That panda was very cute today but that clue was sooooo long!
I think Nil had it in his mind that Keats was going to be an answer to something. LOL. Kinda like me and Rhonda and our 49ers/Joe Montana Plan. At least that $2K poem was actually about Keats.
I was bummed that no one got “The Ancient Mariner.” I think someone would have if they had went with the “with my cross-bow I shot the Albatross” line. Still, I liked the part they picked and thought the word “cross-bow” would do it.
Agreed, I love that video of the panda! Also That McHenry name shouldn’t throw these guys off since his name is named after the Tunnel in Baltimore, MD. My parents travelled to that tunnel to visit Florida 10 years ago and the same to washington DC when my brother had his 8th grade spelling bee down there. Such memorable times all those years ago.
This is the third game in a row with a two player Final Jeopardy.
