WHAT IS THE BOOK OF NUMBERS?
In the 4th book of the Bible, the Israelites were in the Sinai desert when God told Moses to count heads (Numbers 1:2, the quote in the clue), followed by some particular instructions. From another tournament: Final Jeopardy! in the 4th QF match of the 1991 Tournament of Champions had the same response but a totally different clue: The English title of this book is a translation of the Greek word “arithmoi”
Esteban thought it was Exodus. He bet and lost it all.
Netanel got it right. His $2,400 bet brought him up to $18,000.
Lilly also got it right. She bet $4,399 and won the first semi-final spot with $24,399. As Alex noted, Netanel’s Wild Card chances are excellent.

Alex told the contestants that if they thought God was speaking to Moses in the Final Jeopardy clue-they were incorrect. Turns out God was speaking to Moses.
Alex didn’t say it would be incorrect, Liz. He said: “If you knew that He was speaking to Moses, it might lead you in an incorrect direction”
Esteban was my favorite to win.
Great way to start the college tournament! I like to see players going strong with the categories they know. I am thinking Lilly;s style is like Arthur and Ben for some reason. Still She had a great game going. Netanel had a slow start but he made a comeback in the end. I like to see more of it tomorrow. Thanks for sharing this VJ!
That was a good way to kick off the tournament. The final scores would have been higher if there wasn’t that betting fear that goes along with trying to get a Wild Card if you’re wrong. I guess Esteban figured he didn’t have enough to cut it so he might as well go all in.
That Languages clue on the number of speakers in Europe and South America sounded familiar to me, in the way the responses went down. I’ll have to look it up later.
