Stephen Curry Repeats as NBA MVP
It has been a foregone conclusion that Golden State’s Stephen Curry would win the NBA’s Most Valuable Player Award for the second straight season, and it is no surprise that he did indeed win the award for the 2015-16 season. Curry led the league in scoring with a 30.1 points per game average. He hit 45.4% of his three point shot attempts, and led the league with a average of 5.1 three point baskets per game. Statistics are one thing, but anyone watching Curry in action saw a player who was on some higher plane of reality from just about anyone else, and he was at that level night after night.
While this is the second time Curry has won the MVP award, this time he did something that Michael Jordan, Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Bill Russell, or any other of the all time greats ever did: Curry is the first unanimous winner of the NBA MVP award. Curry won all 131 first place votes. San Antonio’s Kawhi Leonard was a distant second, followed by LeBron James.
Curry was in action on May 9th in Game 4 of the Warriors’ second round playoff game against the Portland Trail Blazers. It was his first action since injuring his leg in against Houston in Game 4 of the Warriors—Rockets first round playoff. Curry did not start, but came off the bench to score 40 points, including a league record 17 points in overtime to lead Golden State past the Trail Blazers 132-125. Golden State took a commanding 3-1 lead in the series with the win.

I would take LeBron over him in a heartbeat.
Well-deserved award. His performance when he came off the bench against Portland kept me up but well worth the lost sleep. All season long his performance has been amazing. The expression on Paul Allen’s (Portland’s owner) face said it all.
