Joel finished in the lead with $5,400. Aggie was second with $4,800 and Mariusz was last with $3,000.
Round 2: Mariusz went first and picked the first Daily Double right off the bat in “Colorful Geography” under the $1,200 clue. The scores were the same as above. He made it a true Daily Double and he was RIGHT.

Joel found the last Daily Double in “Music & Movies” under the $2,000 clue. In second place with $9,000, he was $600 behind Aggie’s lead. He bet $2,000 and he was RIGHT.

Joel finished in the lead with $15,400. Aggie was next with $8,000 and Mariusz was in third place with $4,800.

Surprised Joel came up with “In Cold Blood.” As vj wrote in her recap that was in 1966. I thought for sure with Oklahoma in the clue and 1940 that this would be a triple solve. John, I blew my triple instaget prediction. I guess Joel was nervous. During the game he seemed to be a solid player.
well, as i said: there’s always a party spoiler. at least more often than not. i don’t get it either. and he was no slouch during the game. ok and the year should have made that one of the easiest fj clues in recent weeks.
aggie got real lucky, WTH was with the 7,800 bet??? had joel been right she would have lost by 200 had he played for a tie (which happened frequently this season). she did not guard against mariusz, so…????

yes, i absolutely agree. however, joel might think differently. 600 more and he would have had a runaway (at least for a tie). so close but no cigar….
