Ben Ingram: 12 for 12 in Final Jeopardy

Here’s one thing you may not have realized about Ben Ingram that makes him different than Julia Collins and Arthur Chu. In every game that Ben has played on Jeopardy!, he answered Final Jeopardy correctly — even in the game he lost during his 9-game initial run (7/1/2013 to 7/11/2013).

In the 2014 TOC, he gave the correct answer in both his quarter-final game and in his semi-final, and he was the only one to get FJ correct in the first match of the finals.

If he gets Final Jeopardy correct today, the title of this article will be wrong! But we wanted to bring it to your attention so you will be aware of it before today’s match.

Julia Collins correctly answered 12 FJs in her 21 game run.  In the TOC, she answered FJ incorrectly in her quarter-final, got her semi-final right and gave the wrong answer in the first match of the finals. So Julia is now 14 out of 24.

Arthur Chu correctly answered  6 FJs in his 12 game run. In the TOC, he got both his quarter-final FJ and semi-final, but was wrong in Part 1 of the finals. Arthur is now 8 out of 15.

UPDATE: NONE of the 2014 Tournament of Champions finalists got Final Jeopardy right in the final match on 11/21/2014.

So Ben Ingram is now 12/13, Julia is 14/25 and Arthur is 8/16.
