New champ Julia Collins won $15,605 in yesterday’s game. Today she is up against these two players: Donna Innes, from Kalamazoo, MI; and Dilip Rajagopalan, Newtown Square, PA.

Round 1: Dilip found the Jeopardy! round Daily Double in “I’ve Got Time” under the $1,000 clue. He was in third place with $800, $5,800 behind Julia’s lead. He bet $500 and thought it was quarks. That was WRONG.

Julia finished in the lead with $7,600. Donna was second with $4,600 and Dilip was last with $1,100.

Round 2: Julia found the first Daily Double in “Changing White House Towel Monograms” under the $2,000 clue. She was in the lead with $10,800, $6,600 ahead of Donna in second place. She bet $2,000 and took a shot with “GC.” That was WRONG.

Julia found the last Daily Double in “U.S. Bodies of Water” under the $1,200 clue. In the lead with $13,200, she was $8,600 ahead of Donna in second place. She bet $2,000 and she was RIGHT.

Julia finished in the lead with a runaway $18,400. Donna was next with $7,400 and Dilip was in third place with $3,900.

Only ONE of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.

    I’m tired, but I think if Julia had lost she would have had $15,800. If Donna had doubled her $7400, she would have had $14,800.

    almost a cliff clavin. i have not seen the show yet but if the numbers are correct and
    donna would have been right ,julia wrong: we would have had a tie. maybe julia just wanted to milk it to the last penny?

      Not always a bad strategy. Many times, the devil you know beats the devil you don’t know.

        I think that’s correct. She knew she could easily beat her, so why not keep her around?
