Eric found the Jeopardy! round Daily Double in “‘U’ ‘S’ Cities” under the $600 clue. He was in a tie for second place with Mary. They both had $600, $1,800 less than Sarah’s lead. He could have bet $1,000 but chose to make it a true Daily Double and he was RIGHT.

Eric finished in the lead with $5,000. Sarah was second with $3,000 and Mary was last with $600.
Mary found the first Daily Double in “Books & Authors” under the $1,600 clue. She was in third place with $2,200, $2,800 less than Eric’s lead. She bet $2,000, and she was RIGHT.

Mary found the last Daily Double in “European History” under the $800 clue. In second place with $12,200, she now had only $400 less than Eric’s lead. She bet $3,000 and she was RIGHT.

Mary finished in the lead with $18,800. Eric was next with $12,600 and Sarah was in third place with $5,400.

Sarah got it right and doubled her dough. She finished with $10,800.
Eric didn’t know so he wrote down his grandmother’s name. That only cost him $100 and he finished with $12,400. Note to Trebek: It wasn’t granny’s fault he didn’t know the answer.
The answer came to Mary just three letters short of enough time to get it in. Her response “Carol Chann” was not acceptable so she lost her $4,399 bet. She seemed really surprised to find out that she still won the game with her remaining $14,401. But she did so we start out the week with a new champ.
