Golden Knights Beat Hurricanes in Double Overtime to Take a 2-1 Lead in Stanley Cup Finals
The Vegas Golden Knights scored four unanswered goals in the second period to take a 4-0 lead over the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals on June 6th in Las Vegas. The Golden Knights then promptly blew that lead by allowing the Hurricanes to score four unanswered goals of their own in the third period, three of which came in 39 seconds. That sent the game to overtime.
After a scoreless first overtime, Shea Theodore won it for Vegas with a shot off the skate of goalie Brandon Bussi at 5:38 of the second overtime. Vegas takes a 2-1 series lead with the victory.
Mitch Marner had a hat trick and an assist for Vegas. Jordan Staal had a goal and an assist, and Sebastian Aho had a pair of assists for Carolina.
Game 4 is on June 9th in Las Vegas.
