TWO of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.

WHAT IS CAMBRIDGE?

Cambridge is first on Braingainmag.com’s list of how 8 famous cities got their names. A settlement by the bridge near the River Granta began life as Grontabricc. When the Norman conquerors showed up, they couldn’t say Grontabricc so it became Cantebrigie. That evolved into Cambridge. After that, the River Granta was renamed River Cam to match. It is the largest tributary of the River Great Ouse. Strangely enough, however, residents of Cambridge in both the UK and the USA are called Cantabrigian, or Cantabs for short.

Did You Know? There are 5 Ouse rivers oozing around Britain: the Ouse Orkney, the Yorkshire Ouse, the Sussex Ouse, the Great Ouse and, of course, the Little Ouse.

Harvey got it right. He bet it all and doubled his score to $19,600.

Ian went with Oxford. That cost him $9,001 and left him with $1,599.

Stella got it right, too. She bet $5,601 and won the game with $19,601. That was some stellar performance, Stella! She clawed her way back from zero on clue #5 to hold the lead after clue #30 in Double Jeopardy! Stella Trout will be with us for the next 2 days, vying for the top prize along with Cameron Berry and Jonathan Hugendubler.
