In the last week of Season 41, two of the final clues had one correct response and the rest of them had two correct. Monday’s mythological clue was the hardest and one person getting it as a real surprise. In my opinion, the rest of the clues were all easy. Maybe the NYC building was a wee bit harder. The two contestants that got it live across the river from NYC, but Jeopardy! clue writers ask about Big Apple landmark buildings often enough that reading a few articles on the topic could pay off for a Jeopardy contestant.

This week’s winners:
Mon 7/21/25 $50,400 Scott Riccardi
Tue 7/22/25 $28,001 Scott Riccardi
Wed 7/23/25 $40,008 Scott Riccardi
Thu 7/24/25 $24,090 Scott Riccardi
Fri 7/25/25 $23,601 Jonathan Hugendubler

Viewers were on tenterhooks in the last week of Season 41, waiting to see if Scott Riccardi would sweep the week and still be the returning champ when Season 42 rolls around. Scott finished the previous week as a 12x champ with $312,501 in winnings. Scott got Final Jeopardy! wrong on Tuesday, but still won as it was a runaway game for him. All the games from Monday throught Thursday were runaways. Still, it was quite a shock when Scott was wrong in Final Jeopardy! on Friday, the only game when he didn’t have a runaway, even though he finished in the lead. That’s how Jonathan Hugendubler became the latest giant-killer and will be the returning champ in September.

Jeopardy! paid out $166,100 in winnings this week. Only the $169,202 total from the week of 03/10/25 topped that. Scott Riccardi’s $142,499 from this week’s games brought his 16-day total up to $455,000. Scott also got $3K of the $25K consolation prizes.

Here is the last Final Jeopardy! round of Season 41.
