Celtics Crush Warriors for 11th Straight Victory

The Boston Celtics put 44 points on the board in the first quarter on their way to demolishing the Golden State Warriors 140-88 in Boston on March 3rd. The Celtics had an 82-38 lead at halftime in what was the franchise’s third largest margin of victory ever. It was the fourth biggest loss in Golden State’s history.

The bench players for both teams had plenty of playing time. No starter on either team played more than 26 minutes. Steph Curry was just two for 13 from the floor, including 0-9 from three point range. The Warriors were awful from beyond the arc, hitting just seven of 41 shots (17.1%). Jaylen Brown scored 29 points and Jayson Tatum had 27 for Boston. The Celtics were 25-49 from three point range (51%).

The Celtics won for the 11th straight time and improved their record to an NBA leading 48-12, including 29-3 at home. Golden State dropped to 32-28. The Celtics begin a five game road trip March 5th which will be a bit of challenge beginning with Cleveland (39-21) and followed by defending NBA champions Denver (42-19), Phoenix (35-26), Portland (17-42 OK, should be an easier one), and New Orleans (36-25). Boston is 19-9 on the road.
