Rest in Peace, Don Grady
Actor Don Grady passed away on Wednesday, June 27 in Thousand Oaks, California. The 68-year-old actor was well known in the 60s as Robbie Douglas, Fred MacMurray’s middle son on the classic sitcom “My Three Sons.” The handsome Grady was to My Three Sons sort of what Ricky Nelson was to Ozzie and Harriet.
His “My Three Sons” co-star Barry Livingston, who played his younger brother, Ernie — the one with the glasses) wrote on his Facebook. “Sad, sad day. My dear friend and TV brother, Don Grady, passed away today. He was an inspiration to me in so many ways and his impact on my life is indelible. I will miss him greatly.”
One of the Mickey Mouse Club’s original Mouseketeers, Grady appeared on numerous TV shows including westerns of the day, like “The Rifleman” and “Wagon Train,” and also “The Eleventh Hour”, “The Lucy Show” and “Simon and Simon.” Like Ricky Nelson, he pursued a musical career after his series ended.
The immediate cause of death was not reported, but Grady had been battling cancer for the last four years. He is survived by his wife Ginny and two children, Joey and Tessa.
