Paris Hilton opened up to Piers Morgan on his talk show about the effects of the Rick Solomon sex tape scandal she lived through. As her mother wiped tears away from her eyes, Paris spoke being in Australia when she heard about the tape, and not believing it to be true. When she came back to Los Angeles and found that it was indeed true, she said: ” it was the most embarrassing, humiliating thing that has ever happened to me in my life.”

Paris was too embarrassed to talk to her parents at first, but they were both very supportive and kept her home for 3 months. Paris’ mother, Kathy, said they went to family therapy and that it helped.

Piers Morgan asked them to talk honestly about how they felt about the people who put the sex tape out there. Mrs. Hilton said her feelings about them were not good.

Paris spoke about how the harsh public judgment has affected her life: “I just — just felt so betrayed. This was not some random guy. This was someone I was with for a few years. … I can’t believe that he would do something like that to me. It’s something that changed my life forever.”

She went on tearfully to add: “This is not what I planned. I didn’t want to be known as that, and now, when people look at me they think that I’m something I’m not just because of one incident one night with someone who I was in love with. People assume — oh, she’s a slut just because of one thing that happened to me and it’s hard because I’ll never — I’ll have to live with that for the rest of my life and explain it to my children.”
