Knicks Beat Lakers for Sixth Straight Win

The New York Knicks continued in their pursuit of the Detroit Pistons for the lead in the NBA’s Eastern Conference by winning their sixth straight on February 1st. The Knicks hosted the Los Angeles Lakers and beat them 112-100.

New York trailed 56-52 at the half, but had a big 3rd quarter, outscoring L.A. 38-26. OG Anunoby led the Knicks with 25 points, while Josh Hart contributed 20. Jalen Brunson had a double double with 12 points and 13 assists. Luka Doncic led the Lakers with 30 points and 15 rebounds, while LeBron James scored 22. The Knicks (31-18) are tied with the Boston Celtics for second place in the Eastern Conference, 5 ½ games behind the Detroit Pistons (36-12). The Lakers (29-19) are in sixth place overall in the Western Conference. The Knicks will be at Detroit on February 6th, and at Boston on February 8th, and will host Detroit on February 19th. They will host also the Celtics on April 9th.
