WHAT IS “BREAKING BAD”?

Just last month, The Hollywood Reporter covered the Netflix debut of “Metástasis”, the Spanish-language adaptation of “Breaking Bad”. The episode-by-episode remake of the AMC series aired 5 days a week in 2014 on Univision and sister networks. These are the differences between the two shows, according to the article: “Bogota substitutes for Albuquerque. Instead of cooking in an RV with Jesse Pinkman, Walter [Blanco] cooks in a school bus with Jose Miguel Rosas. Saul Bueno (Saul Goodman in the original) hosts a legal talk show.” The Netflix episodes of “Metástasis” are subtitled for non-Spanish speakers. There is also an extended “Metástasis” trailer on youtube with English subtitles.

Melissa didn’t bet anything. She finished with $5,800.

Suzanne bet it all and doubled her score to $19,200.

Jonathan also bet everything so he won the match with $20,200.

No pictures today folks, sorry. I was tweaking my recording settings and, sadly, I mistweaked. ~ VJ

it was the first triple solve since the Golden Gate Bridge on 7/15.

Pretty low totals going into FJ. Still trying to figure out who Bessie Turner is — a cross between Bessie Smith and Tina Turner?

Nobody wants to come out and play tonight?

It would be nice to end the Season with triple solves everyday, right? Fat chance. I can’t say I enjoyed this game – kinda flat…and Jonathan speaks too fast, he makes me kinda dizzy.

I liked the hybrid Turner, lol!

      • VJ says:

yup, looks like it’s just you and me.

I agree the game was kinda blah, at least the part I saw. I didn’t see part of the first round yet. Not because of a snafu like what happened in Ohio yesterday but because I was watching another show and didn’t realize J! was already on.

        • Cece says:

Oh, and Alex sounded a little irritable— maybe because of his cold at the time of the taping. He said kinda snappy when a contestant gave a wrong answer “2 words, 5 letters each” and latter on “the next logical answer would be…” (I don’t remember the clue/answer).

As a “show”, I know why J! offers a lot of TV clues (too many/too often, imo)but it frustrates me when it’s FJ because I always miss it as I don’t watch popular shows.

        • VJ says:

wasn’t that one Zurich? I think it was Melissa who answered and said Geneva.

I watch a few popular shows but I never watched Breaking Bad. I watch Bonanza and Law & Order reruns. Don’t laugh. Ray Donovan was watching a Bonanza rerun in the last episode of that show. LOL!!

I like to see all the people in Bonanza who became famous later. Law & Order, too. I just saw Steve from Married with Children playing a lawyer in an L&O episode last night.

        • Cece says:

Yes, it was Zurich, which Alex seemed annoyed it was a triple stumper

“…Ray Donovan was watching a Bonanza rerun in the last episode…” – funny!

See, I’ve never even seen Law & Order — I’m a lost case. I do though like to watch reruns of The Golden Girls; it cracks me up! And I like AGT.

        • VJ says:

yeah, Ray was watching Three’s Company, too. LOL. I used to watch that when it was on. I like Golden Girls too.

I watched two soap operas for a long time (AMC and OLTL) till one day I just couldn’t stand another second of Erica Kane or Dorian Lord!

        • Cece says:

P.S. And I used to love TBBT up to last Season. Now it’s gotten to be stupid.

        • VJ says:

well, I guess that happens to a lot of shows after xx number of seasons. The writers run out of good stuff. Man, I was such a big fan of Boardwalk Empire, then the last season ruined the whole thing for me. Yikes!
