Pete got the last Daily Double in “Broadway Writing Teams” under the $800 clue on the 18th pick. In last place with $7,800, he had $600 less than Jonathan’s lead. Pete bet $1,000 and he was RIGHT.

TWO of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.
WHO IS NOAH?
Michelangelo painted 9 panels depicting events from the Book of Genesis. Three of them are about Noah. The Drunkenness of Noah (Genesis 9:20–23) is about Noah’s sons finding him drunk and naked. Ham is amused but Shem and Japheth cover him up. The message is really lost in this painting, though, because they’re all naked! The Deluge (Genesis 7:6–24) is in the middle and Noah’s sacrifice of thanks (Genesis 8:18–22) is first or last, depending upon your viewpoint. Learn more
At 600 years old, Noah probably couldn’t hold his liquor, and his sons likely covered him with a blanket. According to Eddie Cantor’s song “Noah’s Wife Lived a Wonderful Life” (1920), she locked up his coat.
Jonathan got it right. Wild Cards be damned, he bet it all and finished with $18,400.
Vickie got it, too. She bet $4,400 and finished with $13,600.
Pete thought it was Abraham. He lost $7,601 and finished with $3,199. So Jonathan wins the semifinal spot and Vickie is a shoo-in for a Wild Card.
A triple stumper from each round:
PIVOT! ($800) Facing angry seas at Cape Horn, the Bounty’s Capt. Bligh went 1,000 of miles the other way to reach this island
LET’S RADIOCARBON DATE ($1600) Researchers used seeds at Djoser’s step pyramid to help pinpoint this Egyptian kingdom’s timeline between 2691 & 2625 B.C.
2 years ago: Only ONE of the players got this FJ in “BRAND NAMES”
Originally called Fruit Scones, the name of this food brand introduced in 1964 was influenced by an art movement of that time show

I was 2/3 on DD and got FJ. I’m not a big “Cabaret” fan, so I forgot that song. In case you didn’t know, Alice B. Toklas created the hashish brownie!
I have to sheepishly admit that I got FJ due to the movie!
I really thought I heard Jonathan said “On Flanders FieldS”, when it is “Field”. Either I’m wrong, or, they missed it!
Jason, it is Flanders FieldS — Jonathan only said those 2 words, not the beginning of the poem which actually is IN Flanders Fields.
First round preempted by news coverage of fed-related shooting here, then a slew of commercials. Good game, very balanced. I thought Pete might bet low on Final to try to nail down a wild card, just as he did on the last DD. I fouind the first/third DDs easy but went the wrong way on the 2nd. No clue on Final.
Surprised only 1 of 3 got the Brand Name from 2 years ago. There were 3 giveaways in the clue: the product name, the year, the source. Totally knew the ZIP acronym, I remember its inception in ’63. Tough one for a younger person. Also knew the one-vowel Jewish synagogue.
Did you mean to give away the answers to the 3 acronym stumpers?
Howard, no, I didn’t meant to do that. I forgot to hide the answers. Sorry!!
Semifinalists:
Stella Trout: $26,401
Jonathan Hugendubler: $18,400
Michelle Tsai: $14,398
Harvey Silikovitz: $12,998
Wild cards:
Vickie Talvola: $13,600
Cameron Berry: $12,599
Bill McKinney: $12,200
Dave Bond: $10,000
===================
Pete Johnston: $3,199
Dargan Ware: $2,200
Geoff Barnes: $800
Jason Singer: $0
Vickie and Cameron have both clinched the first two wildcards meaning they can’t be caught heading into tomorrow’s game. Bill McKinney and Dave Bond are leaning on hope that their scores will be enough to give them Wild-Card spots. Unfortunately for Pete and Dargan, they have both been eliminated and will each go home with 5,000. With one last quarterfinal game tomorrow, the scores to beat are $12,200 and $10,000.
I had to include the Eddie Cantor song because it’s been stuck in my head ever since I read the clue!
