I’m just guessing, but, both the FJ clue and the “Symphonies” $1600 triple stumper seemed “clunky” to me, and I would guess that the same writer wrote both. It’s like the writer who loves Pericles from Shakespeare, and the other who is all about Descartes. The style slightly stands out.

  2. Robert V says:

Ken Jennings is an excellent host. He has grown into the skill set. I prefer him to Mayim Bialiik

    • Cocoa says:

Agree Ken is doing a great job. He has grown and seems very comfortable now.
      Hubby prefers him too.

    • Rick says:

Actually, since naming a permanent host seems to be like wading through a minefield, they should simply keep the current arrangement between Ken Jennings and Mayim Bialik.

  3. Rick says:

I quickly came up with Mount Ararat in FJ, but if any wood was in fact discovered on that mountain, carbon dating revealed that none of that wood came from Noah’s Ark.

  4. VJ says:

Congrats to Amy on tying Matt Amodio! Also nice to see her big bet losing streak is over. Good thing she didn’t lose her nerve over it.

Boo hiss to Ken: someone needs to tell him to stop opening the show the way he has been going. He spoke for 38 seconds today between thanking Johnny Gilbert and saying “Let’s get into the game.” He devoted 37 seconds of that time to Amy and one second to welcoming Avinash and Koré. I think that’s just plain rude for a host.

    • Rick says:

I don’t think that Ken meant to be rude as he had much to say about Amy, and time was simply running against him.

      • VJ says:

That’s fine if you don’t agree with me, Rick, but it was only 38 seconds and it’s happening at the beginning of the show. I don’t see how he could be up against the clock at that point and I’m sure he could devote 10 seconds to welcoming all his guests properly before carrying on about Amy’s accomplishments.

        • rhonda says:

I agree, I don’t really care to hear a rehashing of all things Amy, enough with the gushing.

    • Cocoa says:

Counting seconds, wow! My chuckle for the day. No disrespect.

      • VJ says:

Cocoa, just counting the seconds to be fair to Ken and show the basis of my observation. But of course, that will go unnoticed by some.

“Give the challengers a proper welcome” is a constructive criticism that he can do something about and I think he should.

      • Sammi says:

It’s interesting anyway. I thought he was talking for at least a minute!

  5. Jacob Ska says:

Amy will appear on Good Morning America Monday morning 24 Jan 2022. When I heard that this morning I thought she was going to lose tonight or have a tight game. Neither happened. I should have known better.

Congratulations Amy on your fantastic 38th game win and matching Matt Amodio’s number of winning games record.

  6. Louis Jin says:

Congrats once again to any on tying with Matt amodio for the number of wins. But she still has about 200K less than he did. I bet both amy and Matt will have fierce competition in the tournament of Champions later on. I read about Noah’s ark in the bible and the whole flood thing which lead me to Ararat. Good players today. We finish off the week without triple stumpers and another clean sweep by Amy.

  7. Kevin Cheng says:

Congrats to Amy for tying with Matt Amodio for second place with the number of consecutive wins. Will Amy surpass Matt Amodio for second place all by herself or will the same thing happened just like Matt Amodio in his 39th game? We’ll find out on Monday.
