Feeling smart today – 2 days in a row I got FJ when they all missed it – even Amy (Van Gogh yesterday). I knew Ethel Merman was in Annie get you gun and couldn’t think of another Dolly, my first thought. Also got Kennedy’s boat. But of course Amy got so many that I had no idea about.
Amy got credited $3,200, because “Tale Spin” was as acceptable as “Nosedive”.
The reversal is on Page 2, William, and it’s “tailspin”, not “tale spin”.
She shouldn’t have, because it’s not the same thing. The definition is literally in their names. 🤦
I agree, it doesn’t fit the definition of the category, although it wouldn’t have made a difference in the outcome of the game.
Tough final, but a good one. I should have known it, but I’m too far removed from when I lived in NYC decades ago. “Rose” was my weak response.
Amy is every bit a fact machine as Matt Amodio. Not quite in Holzhauer’s league in terms of % of right answers given A bit surprising tonight that no one knew JFK’s boat, or the 12-letter city surrounding LA.
@Howard, I had the same response as you (and Amy) for FJ! I told my daughter I knew the clue on JFK’s boat because I saw the movie named for the book that was named for the boat decades ago. I wonder if Cliff Robertson is on their radar — most of the clues about him are about his playing JFK in that film. The last one was in 2019.
I also saw the Cliff Robertson movie in the theater when I was a little girl, it must have been part of a double feature. . I remember I thought that JFK was playing himself lol.
I see where you say no clues went uncovered. There were always clues left over when Alex hosted not so much after he passed away. Anyone else notice this ?
I’m sure lots of people have noticed it, James. It was a common complaint back in the day
That was some tough finale. Actually, I can’t ever recall seeing the 1946i musical on television. I thought that it might have been ‘Marie’, but I was wrong just the same.
VJ, thanks for the fantastic research. Clearly, 1946-1949 was way before my time to see “Annie Get Your Gun” on Broadway. LOL! Hope all is well today.
GO AMY GO! Superb knowledge base. I love how she responds to negative comments on Twitter in a positive way. So much class.
Thanks, Jacob. I have to go to the doctor for treatment once a month so I don’t “keel over” (A little humor that ties in with Jeopardy! today). The doc said I’m doing good. I just need a nap.
I loved Amy’s chat story today. This site has always been about finding something to associate with whatever we’re learning so we can remember and appreciate it. Also, as I mentioned another time, my parents always said “Look it up.”
I’m a fan of Amy Schneider and Ken Jennings❣❣
Another triple stumper today. Probably one of my favorite FJ clues. Annie Get Your Gun will always be in my memories forever. Let’s hope we get a triple solve tomorrow.
Another tough final as we got another triple stumper. As usual, nobody knows about broadway musicals.
