Daniel Berger Wins Charles Schwab Challenge As PGA Tour Resumes
The first PGA event since the tour shut down March 12th due to the Covid-19 pandemic gave fans a little extra golf. Daniel Berger and Collin Morakawa were tied at the end of regulation, forcing a playoff. Berger had a par save from behind the green on the first playoff hole, and Morakawa missed a three foot putt that would have tied it, giving Berger the victory in the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas on June 14th.
The fans that were treated to this exciting finish were all watching on TV as there were none present due to Covid-19 restrictions, as has been the case for NASCAR events so far. At least the next four PGA Tour events will be without fans present. The good news: out of 487 Covid-19 tests administered at the tournament, none came back positive.
Next up on the PGA tour: The RBC Heritage at Hilton Head, South Carolina, June 18th-21st.
