Atlanta Hawks Stay Hot, Beat Raptors

One of the more improved teams in the NBA this year is the Atlanta Hawks. On April 13th, Atlanta beat the Toronto Raptors 108-103 for the team’s third straight victory and seventh in its last 10 games. The Hawks improved to 30-25, good for fourth place in the NBA Eastern Conference, 7 ½ games behind the first place Philadelphia 76ers.

The Hawks still won even though Trae Young, the team’s leading scorer at 25.4 points per game, was out with a leg injury. Bogdan Bogdanovic led the team with 23 points, and Clint Capella had 19. Capella also had 21 rebounds; he leads the NBA in rebounds, averaging 14.2 per game. He’s averaging 15.4 points per game, which means he’s averaging a double double. This was his 36th double double of the season in 48 games.

The Hawks are looking for their first playoff appearance since the 2016-17 season, when they were 43-39. Since then, they finished 24-58, 29-53, and 20-47. They host the Milwaukee Bucks on April 15th.
