Only ONE of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.
Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald was dubbed “the first flapper” by her famous husband, F. Scott Fitzgerald, no doubt due to her free-spirited persona. After the success of Fitzgerald’s first novel “This Side of Paradise,” the couple married and became the toast of the New York and Zelda received offers to contribute to various magazines. The “Flapper” article was published in the June 1922 in the Metropolitan Magazine. Among her descriptions of a flapper: “… she refused to be bored chiefly because she wasn’t boring.”
Jennie came up with Anne Morrow Lindbergh. She bet and lost it all.
Pasha thought it was Eleanor Roosevelt. He lost $5,050, leaving him with $6,650.
Austin got it right. He would have won even if he bet nothing but he bet $8,000, so he won with $23,900. His 2-day total is $59,900.

It was both strange and funny that Austin blanked out on Canada on that Daily Double. That was the first one I thought of when I saw the category name and definitely expected it to be in one of the clues.
Yeah, Canada was the first one I thought of, too. I made a quick little list when I saw the category and Kazakhstan was the only one I didn’t have on there that came up, but I recognized it on the map. I liked how they put 2 in one clue.
Japan, Ghana and Malta were also on my list. I thought of Chad later. Not sure if Myanmar fits the category. I think it falls in that “and sometimes Y” thing.
This is Jennie’s IMDB profile. If you click on the ‘self’ tab, it says she was a contestant on Who Wants to be a Millionaire in 2003
Well, despite that daily double not paying off for Austin in round one, he made a comeback in the second round with a clean sweep. Also, wasn’t Fitzgerald a heavy beer drinker like Jack Kerouac and Dylan Thomas, VJ? Those guys imbibed a lot of alcohol in their years as writers but what was their reason for consuming that much beer while writing novels? What do they hope to accomplish though?
@Lou, I thought F. Scott Fitzgerald was gin drinker. Yeah, found it– a list of writers’ favorite drinks, though I find it hard to believe that Poe’s was cognac. Isn’t that expensive? Supposedly, he was always broke.

I can’t picture Hemingway drinking a Mimosa? It’s such a ‘girly’ drink.
LOL, Becci. I can’t picture it either. For some reason, I’ve always pictured him drinking rum straight out of the bottle.
