Hannibal Barca was born c. 247 B.C. in Carthage, in what is now Tunisia. The battles of Trebbia and Trasimene occurred during the second Punic War in Italy, when Hannibal fought Roman general Scipio Africanus for control of Italian territories. Hannibal won those battles but lost the war. Back in Carthage, Hannibal went into politics but later returned to military life. After another defeat by the Romans, he reportedly took his own life at Libyssa, near the Black Sea. More on Hannibal on Biography.com

Good competition in the last round with Laura taking over and gaining that $5K+ lead, and Jen regaining control near the Double Jeopardy finish line.

Well glad that everyone got final jeopardy right, it would have been nice to see Laura win again but still she played brilliantly, let’s see how the teacher from Virginia will do on tomorrow s game, I wonder if the war has caused hannibal to take his own life since all the battles and stress has messed his body, VJ?

@Lou, I think he just decided he’d rather die than be a prisoner of the Romans. If it’s true that he carried poison with him in a ring, then he must have decided that in advance.
