Final Jeopardy (11-23-17)
WHAT ARE GREECE & IRAN?

On the European side, Turkey is bordered by Bulgaria and Greece. I put a little red line on the above map to illustrate that Greece extends farthest west. On the Asian side, Iran is farthest east with Azerbaijan coming in second. Turkey’s other Asian neighbors are Georgia, Armenia, Iraq and Syria.

Liz picked Greece and Iraq. She lost her $2,401 bet and finished with $1,199.

Kiana got it right. Her $3,000 bet brought her up to $9,900.

Jesse also got it right. His $3,200 bet brought him up to today’s winning total: $11,000. Jesse is the new Jeopardy! champ.

VJ, there was a question about a statue and the answer was New Orleans, but I missed the clue. Would you be able to tell me what it was?

    • VJ says:

Sure, Rhonda — here it is (Liz got it right):

Rebels Without a Pulse ($600) In 1884, 14 years after Robert E. Lee died, this city put up his statue. To Mayor Landrieu’s approval, it was removed in 2017

Well Liz did her best, but still kiana should have bet 4500 dollars or 5000 to beat Jesse if she wants to remain champ. Also the third farthest east country would be Turkmenistan right VJ? It is a part of Asia.

    • VJ says:

Not for this clue, Lou — the country had to border Turkey. It looks like Iraq is third for extending farthest east to me.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone celebrating today.
