Marilyn found the Jeopardy! round Daily Double in “British Cabinetry” under the $800 clue, with a dozen clues to go after it. She was in a second place tie with Ryan. They both had $1,200, $2,800 less than Lee’s lead. She bet $1,000 and she was RIGHT.

Lee finished in the lead with $5,200. Marilyn was second with $5,000 and Ryan was last with $4,200.

Ryan found the first Daily Double in “Biblical Art” under the $1,200 clue on the 13th pick. He was in second place with $9,400 at this point, only $600 behind Lee’s lead. He bet $3,000 and guessed Titian. That was WRONG.

Marilyn found the last Daily Double in “Prisoner of War Camps” under the $2,000 clue, with 2 whole categories left after it. In second place with $8,600, she had $7,000 less than Lee’s lead. She bet $5,000 and guessed Adams. That was WRONG.

Lee finished in the lead with $18,400. Ryan and Marilyn were tied in second place with $8,000 each.

Henry Drushel Perky, attorney, businessman and the inventor of shredded wheat, came up with idea of the cracker called Triscuit. He applied for a patent for a “filamentous cracker” that was granted in 1902 and his company began producing it. That same year, Perky disposed of his interest and retired.
I can’t establish whether he gave the cracker the Triscuit name, or whether Nabisco did when it acquired the Shredded Wheat Company; or for that matter, whether the cracker’s name had anything to do with a 3-part process in making it or whether it was a reference to “triticum,” Latin for wheat. I did learn that Nabisco’s Triscuit plant in Niagara Falls, NY was shut down in 2001. Now they are made at plants in Ontario and Naperville, IL.
Marilyn was not penalized for spelling it “Triskit.” She bet $7,995 so she finished with $15,995.
Ryan never had the pleasure of one with a little Brie on it, so he just drew a smiley face. He lost his $2,000 bet, finishing with $6,000.
Lee got it right, too. He bet $2,000 so he won his second game with $20,400. His 2-day total is $42,800.

Lee is building up his win nicely, I think he has potential to be a multi day champion just like Gilbert. Also VJ, when was the last time you or your family had triscuits or Nabisco cookies? Those are great snack brands now. Plus what other snacks do you like from Nabisco?
@Lou, the last Nabisco stuff I’ve had was probably Chips Ahoy cookies and ‘Nilla Wafers (remember when they were a clue, I got the name wrong and mentioned that I had just been on a vanilla wafer binge). Nobody eats Triscuits here.
Well, no disrespect to Lee, but he wouldn’t have had a runaway if Ryan and Marilyn had not missed their Round 2 DDs. I thought Ryan’s was a real toughie. Alex was like oh no, the softer, rounder parts of the body are typical of Botticelli, like it was common knowledge. I don’t know what to say about Marilyn’s DD, except it was really cute when she bet the $5,000, like she was surprised that figure came out of her mouth, and I was sorry she lost it. John Quincy Adams and Andrew Jackson were the same age, by the way.

Yeah, I noticed that the two opponents missed the DDs, and I thought that Lee was going for one of them and responded correctly to win big, but he realizes that he didn’t need them and that he has his own win of winning. In the next game, I hope that Lee will try out a daily double without missing.
I was also surprised that the contestants didn’t know much about the animal homophones. But it was funny how lee was like “Let’s end the misery for 2000” LOL so funny VJ. And alex’s imitation of the whale was so comical. I was like how did he do it? Still though VJ, you got to admit, I admired Marilyn’s attempt and she was able to pull off that final jeopardy answer even though she didn’t defeat Lee.
Yes, Lou, the players were having a hard time parsing those clues “on the fly” (ha ha ha) but good for them, getting the last two, and YES! that Alex imitation of the whale wailing was hilarious.
I’ve got a feeling we’ll see Lee for quite a while
