Yesterday on the Wheel of Fortune

It’s Wheel of Fortune, America’s Game and we’re posting the Bonus Puzzle with the winner’s final prize amount. By way of comparison, the Jeopardy! payoff is also included with a link to the recap of that game.

These common letters are always turned over in the bonus puzzle before the player chooses letters: R, S, T, L, N, E

Wed 4-24-24: On Wheel of Fortune: $67,105
On Jeopardy: $18,900

FOOD & DRINK: T _ P _ O _ _ 🟪 P _ _ _ _ N G

Alex chose the letters H, P, G and O. That got him 2 P’s, one G and one O. That was enough for him to figure out this
T _ S T _ 🟪 _ _ N _ _ _ T _ _ N.
Alex racked up a $40K bonus prize on top of the $27,105 he won in the main game.

Tue 4-23-24: On Wheel of Fortune: $38,030
On Jeopardy: $17,601

THING: _ _ _ R L _ _ N D 🟪 _ E _ R
Laura chose the letters D, M, G and O. That got her one D and it was the last letter of the first word. She knew the last word, which is the likely reason she didn’t pick the A but she still picked the wrong vowel, preventing her from winning the $40K bonus. No worries, sez Pat, as usual because she already won
_ L _ _ S T 🟪 T _ _ T 🟪 _ _ _ _.

I’ve been playing Phrasle online everyday for a while now, mainly because some of the phrases bring back memories. I’ve decided to post the previous day’s solution here because I think it’s also a useful tool in helping one recognize word patterns (sort of like cryptograms). Give it a try!

Yesterday’s Phrasle Solution:
Wed 4-24-24: FASTER THAN A SPEEDING BULLET
Carlito’s Way (1993): “He’s an animal. You know that? – Faster than a speeding bullet.”
