Von Anhalt Puts Zsa Zsa First

Zsa Zsa Gabor’s husband, Prince Frederic Von Anhalt, says he will stop running for Governor of California if his wife’s condition worsens. Von Anhalt appeared via satellite on The Joy Behar Show and said that his 93 year old wife was still not doing well, but the doctors were saying she might be able to go home by Saturday. Joy asked him why Zsa Zsa’s daughter, Francesca Hilton, says that her mother’s condition is not critical, but is only “guarded.” Von Anhalt said that Francesca does not have access to all the information that he does and he is the one who knows what is going on. The couple have been married for 24 years, certainly Zsa Zsa’s longest union (the second longest was something like 7 years).

Joy Behar expressed surprise that Zsa Zsa was watching Jeopardy! when she fell and hurt herself, but Von Anhalt said that Zsa Zsa is very sharp and not only loves Jeopardy!, she loves Joy’s show. A montage of Zsa Zsa’s photos was running and Joy said: ” I must say — it`s fun to watch — to see her again in those pictures that we`re showing right now. You know? It brought me back to the old days when she used to be on Merv Griffin and the other shows and she was very funny and very entertaining.” Von Anhalt gallantly said “you’re not that old.” Joy is actually just a few years older than he is.

When questioned about whether he will continue as a candidate for the governorship of California, Von Anhalt said that it will depend on how things go with his wife’s health. “My wife comes first,” he said. I stop everything … for the next few weeks and see how she`s recovering. If she doesn`t recover the way I like it or the way she should recover, then I`m not going to run, but if she recovers, I`ll continue doing it.”
