Well, the quarterback controversy in Philadelphia is over, or at least it should be. Michael Vick had another outstanding performance in the Philadelphia Eagles victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars September 26th. Vick accounted for all 4 Eagle touchdowns, throwing 3 touchdown passes and scoring one himself on a 17 yard run. He passed for 291 yards, and only ran the ball 4 times himself. That will save some wear and tear on his body as the season progresses. In less than 3 full games, Vick has passed for 750 yards and six touchdowns, and no interceptions. If the future of Philadelphia Eagles football is Kevin Kolb at quarterback, then it looks like the future will just have to wait.
It already looks like the starting quarterback job has been won by Michael Vick, as trade rumors have started about Kevin Kolb. The Cleveland Browns have been said to be interested, and possibly others. The Philadelphia Eagles will host the Washington Redskins on October 3rd, and that means the return to Philadelphia of the Eagles’ previous quarterback, Donovan McNabb. McNabb, of course, spent 11 years in Philadelphia before he was traded away to make room for Kevin Kolb as the starter. Now, Kolb will be watching from the bench, as Vick tries to solidify his hold on the starting job. If Vick continues to play as well as he has in the first 3 games of the season, The Kevin Kolb Era may be over before it starts.
