Unforgiven: 1992 Best Picture

“Unforgiven” only won 4 Oscars out of its nominations at the 65th Academy Awards, but two of them were Best Picture and Best Director (Clint Eastwood). Gene Hackman nabbed Best Supporting Actor and Joel Cox won for Best Film Editing.

The other Best Picture nominees were: “A Few Good Men”, “Howards End”, “Scent of a Woman” and “The Crying Game”. A completely different film list made up the Top 5 Box Office hits of the year: “Aladdin”, “The Bodyguard”, “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York”, “Basic Instinct” and Lethal Weapon 3″.

Al Pacino got Best Actor for “Scent of a Woman” and Emma Thompson won Best Actress for “Howard’s End”. Marisa Tomei got the Best Support Actress Oscar for “My Cousin Vinnie.”
