The James Franco Star Treatment

The New York Post reports that actor James Franco’s professor, Jose Angel Santana, at NYU gave him a D in “Directing the Actor II.” Santana feels he was perfectly justified because the actor only attended 2 out of 14 classes, and he says he was fired as a direct consequence of failing to give Franco the star treatment.

Santana told the Post that in his opinion: “they’ve turned the NYU graduate film degree into swag for James Franco’s purposes, a possession, something you can buy.”

Santana is suing in Manhattan Supreme Court in New York to try to get his job back.

The story prompted the Houston Chron, meantime, to wonder if Franco signing up to the University of Houston for a creative writing course will turn out to be a good idea after all.
