Supporting Cast: You’ll Never Get a Chicken – Shameless

We’ve got some more new characters from Episode 7, Season 7 of Shameless (11-13-16), and the actors and actresses who played them in this post. The recap of the episode is here.

Chet Hanks as Charlie in Shameless

I’m in recovery

Chet Hanks played Charlie, Sierra’s ex and the father of Lucas. Yes, Chet is Tom Hanks’ son and he really does have an “Audentes Fortuna Iuvat” (Fortune favors the bold) tattoo. Sierra did not want to shut Charlie out of her son’s life like her mother did to her but Charlie’s claim that he was in recovery turned out to be bogus when he left the boy with his neighbor, Noelle, to go on a quick errand and failed to return. If Charlie wants to ever see Lucas again, he may have to go to Parent Re-education.

Lela Lee in Shameless

We’re here to help.

That was a class that Debbie Gallagher had to go to where counselor Lenore (played by Lela Lee) tried to assure the disaffected parents that DCFS was on their side and not looking to take their children away. All they had to do was shape up. Going by their stories, let’s just say that Lenore had her work cut out for her.

Alyssa Garcia as Gina in Shameless

What’s the point of working if you have to pay it all for childcare?

Gina (Alyssa Garcia) was there because she left her son in her car while she was working. Lenore asked her what better choices she could make and Gina offered to roll the window down some more next time.

Richard Pierre-Louis in Shameless

Next time you knock, I ain’t home

Willie (Richard Pierre-Louis) had some needles and his kit laying around when he got an unexpected home visit. He felt the best way to resolve that issue was just not let the social worker in his apartment next time. Willie’s defense was his son wasn’t even home when that happened but you kinda got the feeling that he wasn’t going to be putting that stuff away even when the baby was there!

Jennifer Taylor in Shameless

My Catholic school battle scars beat yours

Jennifer Taylor played Anne Seery, the head of Hopkins Academy. She managed the unmanageable Frank Gallagher like a true professional, winning him over with her tale of coping with Catholic school abuse and Guatemalan dark chocolates. But best of all, she gave little Liam a full scholarship to Hopkins Academy. Let us hope that Frank does not screw that up for the kid. It didn’t look too promising with his demonstration of how to break a chicken’s neck at the end!
